Industry Spotlight Canada’s mission is to be the premier website portal, providing education and career resource materials to students and educators in Alberta.

About Us

Industry Spotlight Canada is a unique and innovative resource designed to encourage young adults to consider careers in industries that directly affect Alberta's economy.

Our DVDs are authorized by Alberta Education as a learning resource, and are distributed to every high school in the province. They showcase real people working for real Alberta companies, in a variety of positions with different levels of education and training.

We know that DVDs are headed the way of the dinosaur, which is why all of our videos and interactive content are available online. Online learning, coupled with online safety training, gives students access to career opportunities they have never had before.

Industry Spotlight Canada also hopes to be a leader in facilitating video conferencing in Alberta's schools. By connecting students with industry experts, young people now have a direct link to career information and resources to make an informed decision about their futures.

Company History

Industry Spotlight was founded in Scotland in 2006, with the launch of our Energy DVD. Since then the series has grown to include numerous industries, including Life Sciences, Construction and Digital Media. The Canadian office was opened in Edmonton in 2007, with our first product launched in 2008, featuring Natural Resources.

The Industry Spotlight Canada, Natural Resources DVD and teacher guide, launch took place in 2008 at the Saddledome, with 600 students in attendance. A similar event launch was held in Edmonton, at the Oasis Conference Centre, with nearly 700 students attending. 2010 has seen the series expand further and now covers Industrial Construction and the Trades.

This expansion will continue into 2011 and beyond.
